New News Design Director in Fort Lauderdale

Just announced today: Chris Mihal, formerly of the Arizona Republic, will replace the irreplacable Denise Reagan at the Sun-Sentinel. Chris has been with us since October and the position has been open for almost a year. Congratulations, Chris!

New hires in Atlanta

Rick Crotts of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution passes along news of some new hires:
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has hired two new designers.
Deanna Engel (from St. Petersburg Times) has joined the sports desk, where she will design and copy edit. Tracy Cox (from Tuscaloosa News) has joined the news desk, where she will design and copy edit.

Congrats to Deanna and Tracy! Keep up the great work that's been coming out of Atlanta!

Patrick Garvin from Sun-News to Times-Union

Patrick designer-comedian-hyphenate Garvin moves from one punctuated paper to another. Congrats to Patrick who gets to work with the wonderful Denise Reagan, among others. Of course, you know what this move really means....

Welcome to the region!

Molly Parsons, former features designer at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recently started at the Palm Beach Post as a features designer. Before she was at the PG she interned at the Columbus Dispatch and worked for the Daily Kent Stater, at her alma mater, uh, Kent State where she got a degree in visual journalism.
